Any Educational NGO in Mumbai faces a lot of challenges in trying to provide education to members of low income neighborhoods. This is because, unlike people who live in well off areas and have gainful employment, people in low income areas often have to make ends meet, and this means that they work two or three jobs.

Even children are not left out, and once old enough most of them are expected to supplement the family income.

Therefore, when trying to provide Quality education for slum children, NGOs must be innovative and use unique leaning approaches to ensure that children in classes do not drop out.

Some of the approaches used include the provision of meals to children in school, night schooling, vocational training and mobile schooling. All these approaches are aimed at retaining children already in school or attracting new ones to the learning center.

However, since all this may be costly, an Educational NGO will look for partners to make any leaning scheme or model sustainable. This will normally involve awareness campaigns and asking corporations to contribute in the promotion of social equality in society.

By creating such support systems in educational programs, sustainability is ensured and corporations contribute to improved social service in India.

Roles played by NGOs in society are very important since, they do not only try to make life bearable, but also give hope to people living in low income areas that life can be changed for the better, and the first step is the provision of education to children.
